GLOBAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & INTERNATIONAL SALES

In 1987 while sitting in a class at the University at Buffalo, I scribbled on a piece of paper the population of the world and next to it the USA. At the time the world’s population was about 5 billion and the population of the USA was 250 million, or 5%.  It might seem obvious, but right there and then I realized that 95% of everything that happens was happening somewhere else.

It was at that moment that I decided to go into international business and in 1989 I moved to Rome, Italy for a year, setting the course for the next 25 years.

Since then I’ve been involved in international business in some form or another, have collected many one-of-a-kind life experiences, and have traveled to about 50 countries across Europe, Asia, India, Middle East, and Latin America.

Today I work for PTC in Enterprise Software sales as a Strategic Account Manager and am responsible for developing relationships and business growth in named accounts. I work with some of the most well-known, global manufacturing companies in the world to align PTC's full software portfolio (CAD, PLM, ALM, SLM, and IoT Smart Connected Products, Operations, and Augmented Reality to meet their business needs.

Prior to this role I was part of PTC's first Go-To-Market Cloud team responsible for positioning and selling PLM software under a Managed Services and SaaS model to the C-Suite at companies with between $500 million to $1 billion+ in revenue.

My original leap into the technology space was in 2007 as the Global Director of the Textiles and Apparel Sourcing Marketplace at MFG.com, a Bezos Expeditions venture backed technology company and world's largest online manufacturing platform at the time. I came in from the outside, pitched the concept, launched the Vertical, and led it from the beginning to over a billion dollars per year in sourced marketplace activity working with top retailers, brands, and factories worldwide.

My start in the manufacturing world was in 2000 when I co-founded Berik, one of the world’s most sought after cult technical motorsports apparel brands seen on professional racers in motogp and World Superbike.  I set up global distribution of the company's products in ten countries and attended professional racing events worldwide.  I sold my stake in the company in 2005.

People say "travel while you’re young".  For me the 1990’s were a time of a lot of travel throughout Europe and sort of set the stage for what was to come.  I spent pretty much all of 1993 leading bicycle tours throughout Italy as guide for Ciclismo Classico and then joined ACIS leading group tours across Europe from 1994 to 1996.  Those were tremendous experiences on the road leading tours in some of the most interesting places in the world.

I closed out the 90's working for four years in sales with the iconic Italian coffee brand illy working with top chefs, restaurants and hotels.

Apart from "career" things I’ve been a musician for 30 years and was the co-founder of the group Worldwide Groove.  Today for fun I'm lead guitarist in the INXS Tribute Band "New Sensation".
