An accomplished global business executive and entrepreneur, Tony has led an incredible life traveling the world, living internationally, building companies, and collecting one-of-a-kind life experiences. He has been involved in international business for 20 years with some of the most iconic niche brands in the world.
He is the Head of Global Business Development of Private Sektor, an advisory firm that focuses on global business development outsourcing for brands and companies looking to do more business internationally.
In 2007 he joined the venture backed technology company MFG.com, the largest online manufacturing marketplace in the world, to create and launch the Textiles and Apparel sourcing division. Along with a very talented team of colleagues worldwide and a lot of hard work, he took the Vertical from scratch to over a billion dollars per year in sourced marketplace activity. He was featured in Textile Quarterly authoring the article titled "The Evolution Sourcing and the e-Sourcing Model" and has presented to audiences on three continents on globalization, sourcing, and his experiences as an entrepreneur.
Prior to MFG.com he founded the boutique global sourcing and licensing company AFI Corporation where he serviced a select roster of clients helping them get retail product placement overseas in China, Japan, and the UK.
In 2000 Tony co-founded Berik, one of the world’s most sought after technical motorsports apparel brands seen on professional racers in motogp and world superbike. He set up global distribution of the company's products in ten countries. He sold his stake in the company in mid-2005.
In the mid to late nineties he re-launched and managed the Atlanta operations for the world-class, and iconic Italian coffee brand illy working with the top chefs, restaurants, and hotels in the region.
Having traveled to about 40 countries and hundreds of cities, Tony shoots photos all over the world and publishes them on his travelogue. Since 2006 he is also behind the blog Anthidote.com focused on “Living Well, Thinking Rationally, and Combatting Daily Ordinariness”. In addition to mother tongue English, he speaks both Italian and Spanish fairly well.
He runs two groups on Linkedin : Global Apparel and Textiles Sourcing (over 8000 members) and Dive to Five for Foodies and Travelers (launched in Feb 2012) and he has bicycled from top to the bottom of Italy.
Tony has a B.S. in International Business from the University of New York at Buffalo and the American University of Rome, Italy.
